The gates were taken to Ellis and Co joinery workshop in Shepton Mallet for assessment and salvage.  Where possible decorative items including the carved rose details and the finials were retained and restored.  Iron studwork was carefully removed and retained for reinstallation in a newly carved set of gates.

The new gate post and gate structures were created in our workshops using Douglas Fir to match the original designs.  Carved details, finials and ironwork salvaged from the original gates were stripped of old paint finishes, refitted and redecorated and the new gates rehung in the stone gate piers of the property.
