New case study on the repair of St Gregory's Church Cheltenham

You may remember an earlier news item on the initiation of the project to reorder and redecorate St Gregory's Church, Cheltenham and the SPAB visit to see the reveal of the historic wall paintings. Well, the redecoration and reordering of the church is now is complete. The masonry has been repaired, the original 1850's ceiling reinstated, the floor relaid, new lighting and heating installed, new cabinets and furniture made by Ellis and Co's joinery team are in place. The overall effect along with the reveal of historic wall paintings, previously hidden under render, make the church a beautiful to behold. We've published a new case study detailing the completed project which you are welcome to read.

Church repairs are at the heart of Ellis and Co's restoration work and it is particularly satisfying in the case of beautiful churches like The Church of St Gregory the Great where we had the opportunity to bring a church up to modern standards of access and comfort while also revealing and enhancing its original features.
