Repairing Halsway Manor

We are delighted to be starting repairs to the fabulous Halsway Manor. This Grade II listed manor house is home to National Centre for Folk Arts which is the only residential centre in the world concentrating on the varied folk heritage of England. In this heritage building contract we will be repairing and conserving the manor’s historic fabric, repairing the roofs, windows and doors, upgrading the dated electrical and water systems. Nestled in the Quantock Hills near Taunton Halsway Manor features in the Doomsday book. Behind its local red sandstone facade it still houses some original Tudor detailing alongside 1920s additions. The repair work is funded by generous grants from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) and Country Houses Association.
